The Lake Bomoseen Lodge is the venue of the Lake Bomoseen Association Sip Bomo Dinner & Wine Tasting.  At the Loft, the top room of the Taproom building, on Friday, May 31, you can partake of a four course dinner planned by Chef Ken with a tasting of wines explained by a wine connoisseur for each course.  Starting at 6:30 pm appetizers will be enjoyed, followed by the remaining three courses.  For starters, you will enjoy "truffled" potato and duck confit canapé with blackberry gastrique, lamb lollipop topped with crispy rosemary herbed shallots on Bordelaise sauce and pan seared sea scallop on a salty popcorn puree with a blood orange coulis garnished with micro pea shoots .   Soup and salad is roasted vegetable and chicken consume with beets, parsnips, carrots and celery leaf, garnished with crispy parmesan bread stick, Mache greens tossed with grilled lemon oil, with crispy fried goat cheese, sliced pear, toasted almonds and tomato filets.  You can choose one of three entrees:  pan seared duck breast with a cherry and thyme compote on a bed of Yukon gold and cauliflower puree or pan roasted monkfish with crispy potato cake, with Enoki mushroom and butter braised leeks, topped with a Madeira butter sauce and micro herbs or pan seared medium rare filet on a crispy pastry with a mushroom and caramelized onion ragout and topped with blue chees, peppercorn and rosemary compound butter and Bordelaise sauce.  A vegetarian  dish is also available.  Dessert for those still hungry is a fresh berry tart with vanilla whipped cream.  Music is provided by Moose Crossing who is Zak Hampton on tenor sax and Tim Duch on organ.  They perform youthful takes on classics from Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatra, to Miles Davis and John Coltrane.  They perform original jazz and funk music along with more contemporary takes on tunes from the Doors, Bruno Mars, and the Beatles. Tickets are $65 and need to be reserved before May 24 by calling John Hale at 201-725-2429 or email him at john@sudokuvt.com.  By purchasing them you are helping the LBA preserve, promote and protect Lake Bomoseen.  Everyone is invited to attend this wine tasting and pairing dinner experience.  Tables of 6 or more can be reserved.  The Loft is handicapped accessible. Contact Davene Brown at gdddbrown@hotmail.com or call 802-468-2281 for more information.
